Good run! How was the footing?
Footing was fine. Your time, Clint, might still be in reach for me if I'm training well - maybe next year - but I don't want you near me down the final stretch or I'm dead! Have to get Peter in the mix as well.
footing was fine - roads were merely wet. I had assumed that due to the masses I really wouldn't be able to 'race', so I really didn't start to push myself until almost mile 4 when I decided to try and reel Deb Livingstone in. Aside from the O crowd at the start and Deb at the end, I didn't see anyone I knew - which was odd considering the numbers of people and proximity to home
Good run Clint! You guys are too fast for me. Despite what Clint says - this is THE race. The one that counts. Actually this was either number 29 or 30 for me. I missed one due to a bruised thigh muscle from a mt bike crash about 15 years ago.
No - keep Peter out of it! That or we'll have to come up and train with you guys.
well now - training with Peter & Co certainly wouldn't be a bad thing other than an hour travel time each way...
congrats on a top 5 age bracket finish by the way and extra congrats to Lyn on winning her bracket.... I'm guessing she probably has a streak going?
Streak - that was number 6, starting with the new record in '00.
I recall seeing Lyn's name in the course record list a while back - nice to see she's keeping it going.
Now that I've run it, I have to concur that it is a great race - I'd never seen the crowds lining the course before - I'd always only seen the end of the chute system. I think this will certainly be an annual event for me too. I'm going to shoot for sub 30 next year though... ;-)
