Race starts tomorrow. Teams have already arrived and are pre-race eating and briefing now. Who's racing? Who's following along? Who wants to speculate on who wins, who podiums, who finishes and who has the most fun?

I'll be joining you Conman - I'm a sucker for the Sea to Sea! Seems like a 2 horse race with MRC and Warrior, but I'm not sure about the full rosters for each.

Looks like MRC is now a 2p Male for whatever reason.

The Coed race seems to be between Vyster and Warrior. Vyster is a veteran race crew that used to race as Lupine Racing. I imagine they have the sights on full course, if they can keep up the pace.

Overall lead is, not surprisingly held by a couple all male teams at the moment.

Less than 25 of the 70+ teams, including a few solos, have all the CPs coming to the boat drop.

I believe there are a few of these full course teams that are miscategorized (sp?) in some way presently, including MRC and Delmarva...perhaps one or two others.

Tough to follow the race currently with all of the jumble between full and short course teams. Hoping that things stretch a tad more overnight. Hoping to see the maps too by then. The course seems to have a nice flow to it with lots of legs, many of which are linear.

Racer Maps: https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fadven...

Ugh, that link sucks (long and messy)! Putting it here for reference, but Mark is looking into why this isn't available yet on the tracking site info tab.

A treat for you and I - I found this open on my work computer when I got in this morning. Must have gotten it from the tracking page while it was available:

Looks like Warrior is rather far out in front. Hard to sort out who is actually in 2nd with all of the short course teams.

Looking at the satellite maps, the teams will get to ride near a very active bomb range...which is not marked as OB on the racer maps.

The spreading out of the end of this bike leg seems to be sorting some teams out. The 2nd place team is Lizard. Some familiar looking names but the one that I know is Jason Schaefer, who I think lives in Jacksonville and is a great navigator. I'd expect them to keep on the full course as long as possible.

Anyone out there seen the course breakdown with distance estimates? I feel like I saw one once but don't know where it was. Curious what the distances are for the upcoming legs and relay.

Near the end of Randy's Day 2 video recap, Warrior is restocking in a little convenience store/bar with Friday night country karaoke going on :)

I'm getting the sense that this is a longer course than maybe the race designer originally thought. Most teams would have spent the 2nd night out on a trek, with 40+ teams still not at TA3 (with the paddle relay) at this time, with only 20 hours left in the race.

Warrior looks to be off of the last (short) paddle and be in TA. They have a long bike ride broken up with a o-course, on an actual o map!! I don't know what the time/distance estimates are for this list leg, but I imagine that they'll finish closer to sunrise tomorrow than sunset tonight.

Lizard is 3 hours back - they had cut into the lead going into the big trek but slowed in the dawn hours and had some mistakes. I THINK they can finish the whole course.

A team named Briar Patch Kids is about 45 minutes further back. I don't know anything about them, but they are in 3rd place by a massive margin. They have a decent chance to clear the whole course, but like Lizard it would require forgoing sleep on this third night.

I was super wrong - Warrior has been flying around the o-course and only has 2 points left. The bike ride back to St. Augustine seems to be around 40 miles, so they are on track to finish right around 1-2AM, which is in-line with a typical winning time in this race. I also saw confirmation that Brian Patch kids missed a CP at an earlier trek. They have passed Lizard, but if they both continue clearing the course that won't matter. I think both of these teams will be able to finish - the quality of the o-map seems to have sped up this trek a good bit.

Woohoo. Warrior won. Didn't really enjoy following this race due to the lack of competition at the pointy end. Maybe it's also the wacky scoring system, but that hasn't bothered me in past years. Ah well. I'm sure the racers have enjoyed themselves.

There are too many dots in the same spots to figure out what's going on, especially if you don't really know all of the teams, so I don't disagree with you.

It looks like Lizard made a real mess of the final trek, eventually dropping a point. The overall top 3 were Warrior, Briar Patch Kids (-1 cp), and Lizard (-1 cp).
