Just finished the 12 hour. The bugs are BRUTAL. Mostly mosquitos but some FDFs as well. V difficult for navigators to concentrate on the tricky nav while being eaten.

Nice looking terrain, how were the woods other than the bugs?

How did your race go, Silky?

Our race was fun! Straightforward biking w no singletrack, fun river paddle that kept us on our toes, and tricky nav on foot. Woods were beautiful in spots and very thick in spots. Also slightly harder to see everything thru bug net. But we def needed those for sanity.

Now I’m at the paddle take-out for the 30hr race. Tundra came they just before sunset and we have had a steady trickle of teams. Just waiting for the lanterne rouge now, they are v close. It is LUXURY as a volunteer to have the tracking system - helps us time naps.
