The Youth Development Program would like to invite all youth - whether you've joined YDP or not - to join in on an OUSA-wide course review session Saturday, April 9th at 5PM Pacific / 8PM Eastern.

We'll break out into groups by course (Red, Green C, Brown B. Orange A, Orange B, Yellow, and White) and talk about key legs of the races over the weekend. OUSA coaches will facilitate the small groups. Course designers will listen in and answer questions. It should take no more than an hour, and we're aiming for much shorter for our youngest participants.

Are you a youth who is interested in joining in?
1. Sign up here by Friday evening so we can stop spamming everyone with EventReg emails, and let us know which legs you are most interested in talking about.
2. Be sure to upload or draw your route on
Routegadget by Friday so the coaches have a chance to take a look.
3. Watch for the final coordinating email with the Zoom link on Friday night.

Hope to see you Saturday!

Coaches are ready and asking how they can help. The more youth, the better the discussion!

I'll send out the Zoom link tonight, please sign up (see previous post) so we know where to send it.

To clarify, JNT members are included and welcome in YDP activities and to join YDP. It's a "both / and" rather than an "either / or" situation, if that makes sense.

Thanks to all who attended. Initial feedback is that this might be something we try to do again for youth attending NREs. Thanks to Pink Socks for commenting on how Cascade is conducting online course reviews locally, which made the idea seem possible and worth pursuing!

For those who signed up, there should be a link to a feedback survey in your email. If you would please take a moment to share your thoughts, we'll use them to think about how we might continue this practice in the future.

Seemed like my son very much appreciated this session, so I think it's a good idea to continue. Thanks to everyone involved!

Maybe just not on a Saturday night … my teen had a date and a hang-out with buddies as conflicts.

Saturday and Sunday nights the weekend after the event are popular among those who've responded to the surveys thus far. Recognizing that east coasters are going to be up later in order to not run into west coasters' daytime activities, and knowing we have young kids participating, it's worth considering whether this works well on a school night. Perhaps we'll try the next one on a Sunday night.

Yes I totally get the difficulty of scheduling! Appreciate whatever is done.
