Seems like there is too little time between OR, Canada, and Endless Mtns to adequately do all three..? Very exciting that we are seeing the boom though!

by the time you finish Canada, you just need 1 day for laundry, 1 day for resupply shopping, and 2 days for travel, so...sounds like 4 extra days to faff about before Endless Mountains.

Are you taking up the challenge, Silky?

silkychrome:
abi, good question - the answer is no. not sure if we'll get even a single one on our schedule?!? probably the most likely option is not registering but being in shape enough for a last-minute sub.

Seems like a reasonable strategy :)

Wow, Rev3 getting organized early for 2023!!

StrongMachine:
Ah, I missed that it was 2023. Interesting format - point-to-point, all-mandatory, with top teams expected to finish in 30 hrs.

Seems to be a well know tactic of adventure racers to not enter events but be ready to go as a last minute replacement. That way you don't have to worry about things like withdrawing due to injury, event cancellations or entry fees.

@tRicky, good to know i'm tactical!

Rootstock just announced that Endless Mountains 2022 will be an ARWS Demonstration Race.

And they hinted at more news coming, so...any guesses?

StrongMachine:
GMARA and Strong Machine have discussed doing a point-to-point XPD from Burlington, VT, to Portland, ME...

But that is not the news @abiperk has...

Also, we have vowed never to RD an XPD.

We used to fantasize with Rodney and Amy about an expedition race from NYC to Philly…

C'mon people - make these happen!!!

Maybe the 2025 Endless Mountains ;)

MHtrailvet:
Marketing idea for that: rebrand as The Endless Suburbs

Rat Race is doing some really cool stuff in the USA and Canada now!

Test pilot event in May: https://ratraceamerica.com/crater-to-canyon/

Test pilot in August: https://ratraceamerica.com/gold-rush/

Follow the length of the Hudson in September: https://sourcetocity.com/

From Miami to Key West in December: https://ratracecitytosea.com/

Fun events with a fully supported low-key non-competitive vibe. Check it out!

@jimmy seems like cool events however not really an adventure race. More like adventure tourism.

"You will require a GPS device with which to follow our event route."

@silky yeah that's the general vibe; a few folks always show up to "race" it at the front and then there's always a few folks at the back that it becomes a race against the dark. Not a true race per se- I like that adventure tourism tag. Is there a place here for that? Thanks in advance!
