All...are there any US retailers that carry map board mounts for bike?

Complete AR noob here in the US. My attempt at a DIY was a disaster.

AR Nav Supplies appears to have gone out of business. Can't find any in the US.

Please, help. Thanks.

We at Rootstock Racing are a registered supplier of autopilot boards. You can check out our website or email for more info.

Autopilot is great, I also like the Nordenmark board I've got. I forget where I got it but let me know if you're interested and I can dig it up. But for ease, I would recommend just getting a board from Rootstock, you can't go wrong there.

Type II Fun:
I prefer the AR Navigation Supplies rotating map board. I don't think they are out of business, they were just running low on supplies and had to stop taking orders till they re-stocked. I just bought the 11x11 "expedition" size in August. I like that it is simple and has a single metal mount and a clamp, no tools required. The mount is a thick steel angle bracket, and the map rotates on a bolt with a spring for keeping tension and a nylon locknut to keep it from coming loose while rotating. It also comes with different sized spacers for the clamp to fit different bars.

The only thing I don't like about the AR nav supplies rotating map board is that the bungie cord map holders need to be adjusted to make them tighter, but the are very convenient for adjusting the map on the go. Also I should have put some tape or something under the clamp so it wouldn't vibrate and slide down my tapered bars becoming loose.

During Nationals this year I saw a team who used the autopilot style board with the plastic posts, and they had snapped and we're zip tied back together with a stick. A steel mounting post is better for AR where your are likely to crash at some point. Your map board will be the first thing to get hit, so it should be durable.
