Impressed you are rebuilding a cassette internals. Also impressed you broke them!
Hope to see you at the D2R2, one of my favorite events of the year. Although this year will be missing one of my favorite aspects, the food!

A year ago, if you'd asked me how a bike hub transmits power in one direction and coasts in the other, I would have had no idea. Now, thanks to bike shop supply shortages and long wait times for service, I've had to learn far more than I ever intended to know about the hubs and hub drivers of all three of my bikes. The hard part has been figuring out the part numbers and which OEM actually makes all of these Specialized- and Salsa-branded hubs. With about $20 in new tools it's pretty easy to get the hub driver off of the axle. I bought a second wheelset for my fatbike, and it came with the wrong (11 speed vs 10 speed) hub driver. The one I need is discontinued. So now when I swap wheels from summer to winter I've gotten pretty good at swapping the driver over as well.

I'm looking forward to not saying, hearing, or thinking the world "pawl" again for a few years, though. I'm glad it was a $10 fix rather than a complete new wheel build around a new hub.

This will be my first D2R2 - I'm riding the 100k. Hope to see you out on the course!
