It is definitely a great place to run. And one can always find somebody who is running ahead to be motivated to catch that person.

My running bodies are trying talk me into running NYC marathon this year. I checked qualifying times for it: 1:21 for half and 2:50 for full marathon; 6:10 Mins/Mile and 6:30 Mins/Mile respectively. That's awfully fast for me (for now) and I don't think I will get that fast by end of April. I think I might have to rely on lotery.

I did the lottery and got in on the first try. And anyway if you don't win for three times in a row, you get in :) I am doing Stockholm marathon on May 31 and later in the summer I am doing O-Ringen. Perhaps I should just move to Sweden:)
