Should we assume that we'll need/want to drive to the start location versus a short leisurely stroll from the Trailside museum??

Competitors for the Traverse will have to carpool to the remote start location as in past years.

What's the snow situation at Blue Hills? I didn't register for the traverse, but considering wandering up for a rec course. But may pass if it will be a slog in the snow..

Re: snow. There was snow on the ground yesterday afternoon, but it's forecast to be in the 40s today and without a frozen ground whatever is left should be mostly gone by tomorrow. Hopefully it dries out some, too.

Thanks, we've still got about 5-6" of very wet snow on the ground here in eastern CT. The sun isn't very strong these days, so even with warming temps, I think its sticking around for a few days.

There is a smattering of snow in the woods, ie mostly covered but a very thin layer, less than and inch. But, at least on the traverse, get your feet wet. The snow is very wet, and many trails have puddles or streams. Most watercourses are above normal.
