Very weird.

I too had compass problems out there (and enjoy kettle terrain as much as you do), but have worn my Garmin with this compass many times. I wonder how this map was produced.

I saw it happen -- it was an obvious, unmistakable needle movement when the Apple watch got close to Kris's compass!

I wish I could blame my Garmin or some kind of compass anomaly for this... :-P

Yeah, I wish I could blame my garmin, too...

Check out my leg to my #4. Guess I thought I was lower down on the hillside.

Kris, I just happened to see this and wanted to say that I too felt my compass was "off" on this map. I rely on it a lot and was trying to be careful, but in at least a couple of cases (Green A 2 and 10, for instance) it seemed to lead me off track. (and I don't have an Apple watch) Of course, these errors could also be my fault. I do think the map was quite good.

The map was excellent, thank goodness! So I felt quite confident just using the map and not my compass. I'm not 100% sure what was going on, but it was definitely weird.
