Discussion: 2018 date?

Any word on a date for 2018? The summer calendar is filling up and I don't want to miss this great event.

Yeah, what do we need to do to make sure 2018 happens? (And preferably not Labor Day weekend...)

I've tried to contact Mike's Maze, but unfortunately not received a reply yet. I will of course keep trying.

If Mike's doesn't work out, we might investigate other corn mazes, but Mike's is clearly preferred.

OK ... shhhh ... you didn't hear it from me ... it is happening. Yay! :)

Details are being finalized; official announcement will be soon. But .. it has to be Labor Day weekend in order to fit Mike's schedule. So that is likely Sat Sept 1st or Sun Sept. 2nd. Tradition suggests Saturday, but let us know if you have a preference.

I can confirm that there will be corn. That there will be fiendish course design. Expect balloons. We also promise this year to remind everyone to look at both sides of their map. And, as always, the map will be perfect.

ooh, that's a difficult weekend for us. We will either be absent or possibly bringing some new recruits along with us. If absent we will be < 2 hours away. Of the two days, Saturday is more likely to be workable.

Alas, we will also be absent, seeing if we can find any corn growing in the Medicine Bow National Wilderness. The week before, however, would be excellent for us.

I think it's great that it's happening again. Too bad about the RMOF conflict, we'll have to make sure RMOC and LROC coordinate their schedule better with Mike in the future.

Saturday is good for us.

In the past, a number of corn mazers have also done, or wanted to do, NEOC's Belmont wanderings on Saturday. Whether or not that's the case this year (it might be for me), it's a good idea to avoid conflict with a NEOC event and do it on Sunday instead of Saturday, other things equal.

For several years the CMO Champs was held on weekday afternoons/evenings. IIRC, the last one was either 2012 or 2013.

Sunday, September 2. No conflict with the NEOC Wanderings event. Also gives the course setter and the maze owners more time to prepare. Apologies to those for whom this isn't ideal.
