First of all, big and warm thank you to all who worked very hard, and managed to keep it together and pull through! It was a fabulous challenging event, that brought together all of the Orienteering community.
I would like however to remind all of you reading this, please-please do not put controls at the edge of the map, in the most challenging area without a catching feature. In my very long Orienteering life, I had to take a safety bearing for the second time, and it brought me to the edge of the cliff and the edge of desperation, to the very top of Mt. Tom. I am very proud to manage not to become the biggest news of the day. I had my chocolate and water, but not enough clothing and no security blanket. There was a little break in the rain that helped. And there was still a little bit of semi-frozen brain left inside that box, so I managed to find the way down and out, but it was a close call. It made me think I am too old or too sick for Green, but I will hate to limit my participation to easy terrains and smooth weather only. Thank you for your support!

Thanks for the feedback snail - I absolutely agree that this is very important for safety, and should absolutely 100% always be used in Junior Nationals. Whether we can get every course setter ever to do this I'm not so sure (they should!).
