Thank you to the clubs that put together a marvelous weekend of orienteering. In the 40 years since Mt Tom's first competition that is my first time orienteering on that mountain. Man, what I've been missing!
Some observations:
New England has to do something about that late April weather. My friends from Florida have never had it so cold and wet at the same time.
As an old man I'm now running the Brown course. Brown courses are sometimes treated with indifference by course setters. Not today. That was the best course of any length I've run in a long time. With the chase start I got to run the first half of the course close to young Peter Goodwin. We took very different routes on several controls and the feedback on which route was best came very quickly. That was until I totally f---ed up one leg and he was away. But there were others to give comparisons the rest of the way. I'm all for more chase starts!!!
Great field for the Junior Nationals. Some of those kids are really fast!
Love the printed splits on paper that did not melt in our hands.
Thank you to a crew of probably pretty tired officials.

Just a note - it was the O'Learys that organised the wooden medals, not Jeff.

Bud and family put in a spectacular amount of work organising this weekend and I'd like to pass my thanks on to them too!

Hi all,
Left behind my green patagonia rain jacket and blue patagonia zipped top at Troll cup yesterday. Who is the best person to reach out to track down? Thanks.

As coursesetter, and someone who knows what times to expect on the different courses, I was pretty blown away by the fast times of Niels Lying-Olsen on RedY (he just got back to orienteering and running a few years ago after a long hiatus) and Vilppu V., our visiting M18 Finn, on GreenX . And really strong two-day performances by Michael Laraia winning ICVM on RedX and Julia Dobson winning ISVF on BrownX.

Thanks Phil, and courses looked great from a distance.

In the "up-and-coming" category, I really should mention Keegan Harkavy M15, whose two-day greenX time was faster than even the fastest M50,55,60 times.
