Controls are now up at Mountain Lakes for the 3rd of the Winter Series.

Nice Red course by Kseniya, mixing up some technical challenges with a few running legs and a fun little loop at the end. Decent running conditions with half an inch of snow on the ground. Note that for the last four controls for all the courses, the steeper part of the hillsides can be slippery due to snow and old leaves, so choose your descent carefully.

Because of said slippery/steepness we have adjusted the last few controls of the Brown course so as to avoid a steep descent and save dodgy knees and brittle bones of us of more mature years.

I second that - think I might have been following your footsteps later in the day. Really fun course! It got too dark for me to complete last three controls (couldnt see map) so decided to bail back to car! Thanks v much for doing this - love the format - would be amazing if we could keep it up in the spring.

I did brown today at 11:00 ...and used the old map with 12 controls and found all the controls where they should be .....did not know about the new brown map until now...??

Susie and I did the Brown at Mountain Lakes today. Fun course.

I was there too! But no doubt later than you, I started just before 15:00. And yes it was fun (green in my case), enough that I really enjoyed myself even though it was raining and 40°F.
