stinkypup:
Doing my first AR (Wilderness Traverse) and am seeking advice on switching shoes during the trek/bike segments, or should I just wear the same shoes?

Bash:
Most WT racers use clipless pedals and switch into dedicated bike shoes for the bike sections. It sounds like you may be using flat pedals, in which case you might choose to wear the same shoes for biking, paddling and trekking. You might want to put a 2nd pair of shoes into your gear bin in case a shoe gets damaged, you want a different fit, or you just want dry, clean feet for awhile (until they get wet again!)

Mr Wonderful:
For what it's worth, I am planning a single pair of shoes for the trek & paddle, and will swap to a very hikable clipless shoe for the bike. I have pushed my bike for many miles kilometers at WT, so for me a comfier walking bike shoe trumps pedaling efficiency.

Agree with Bash and Mr Wonderful.

WT always has wonderful hike-a-bike's that look like a great RIDE when viewed from the comfort of a hotel room.
