I'm glad to hear your back held up; there were some steep areas out there. I'm interested in hearing how you planned 3-4 that you ended up at 6. :-) I went a bit N of the line looking for the wide reentrant to lead me in.
Thanks again for storing and returning our cooler. We caught up with Rhonda after she finished and as we headed out to start.
Well, who knows? I guess the gps track will reveal it tomorrow when I download. I thought I was more or less on a straight line and saw a cliff that was apparently a parallel error. Surprised I was that far south. From there I climbed straight into it. Lucky enough to check the flag and see it was on my map.
#4 I was also "lured" that far south, passing south of #6 (didn't see it) under the big cliff. I figured it out pretty quick (a large wall of rock running SSE, duh) but was unhappy about the unplanned diversion, esp with the new angle of climb.
Well as someone who wasn't there, I'm hoping one of you guys will post a map so I can see what was so difficult for three talented and experienced orienteers!
FWIW I only lost a few seconds on that one. I lost more time on 8, the cliff in the middle of a lot of other cliffs.
