Start times for the Flying Pig (April 7-9) are now posted.

Friday Night Course Start Times: The first competitive start is at 9 pm (2100). However, we have recreational starts beginning at 8:40 (2040). If you are running recreationally, and would like to start early (with just a bit of twilight), you can come to the start area early, and start between 8:40 and 9 (on a space available basis). However, if you are running in a competitive class, you may not start before 9:00. Please note that green course is very full, and if you miss your assigned start time, there are currently no open slots before 10:00. The course closing time will remain at 1:00 am. (3 hours from last scheduled start).

Sunday Sprint Course Start Times: Start times for the first sprint are scheduled to begin at 7:40 am and end at 8:45 am. If you would like to start earlier, the start should be open by 7:20 or 7:30. Priority will be given to parents who want to run their own course first, then shadow a child later.

Columbus Architecture Tours. The Columbus Visitor Center offers some very nice 2 hour architectural tours of the city. You may pre-register at the Visitor Center website. There is a tour scheduled at 10 am Saturday and another at 2 pm Sunday. taking the tour on Saturday will not violate the terrain embargo for the Sunday event.

The event packet has been posted. It includes some corrected information and a few changes to the course notes. Also, be sure to scroll to the bottom for a few "late notes" that just came in.

The set of locator and warm-up maps is now complete. These will also be in your envelope when you check in.

A few people have expressed concern about the fords en route to the Saturday event. They are easily crossable in a normal passenger car, except in extreme downpour and run-off conditions. No rain is expected after tonight, so they will not present a problem.

I did the fords in a low clearance VW Golf a few years ago without too much difficulty. I had to steer around some deeper ruts.

Please enter Eagle Creek Park from the 56th St. gate at the south end of the park and follow the directional signs to the event headquarters. The gate will close at 9:00 pm sharp; everyone needs to be at event headquarters by then as the park ranger will be clearing the park from 8:30 pm.
