You are exceedingly polite. I can't see how having the finish out in the middle of the forest would make things more fun for anyone, organizers included.
It did get us out to the nicest, most runnable, and least steep section of the map, so there is that. I took a longer, but flatter, route back from the finish that went completely on large trails and roads. My back appreciated it.
Sorry, that comment might have come out sounding meaner than it was intended. I was just trying to say that I have some understanding for why they had the long walks to the start and from the finish, but perhaps having a few shuttles available from the finish or advertising the availability of a flatter route back would have been prudent.
