The WCOC weekend is pretty close to home. Can't you skip out for a couple of hours each day to get to the races? The Boulder Dash is an overnight deal, so that's different, but surely you can get to the nearby events.

It looked to me like you were a little pale, like you might be coming down with something that might require you calling in sick, say about 12-13 days from now.

unfortunately, there's no one above me that can take care of things, so if I don't have employees available to cover, then I can't be sick or stuff dies - stuff that is of critical research value or may not even exist in the wild any more. Sneaking away for locals is possible, if the weather is cloudy/rainy, but not sunny. But the last time I pulled that stunt was at Mt Tom a few years ago when I ran early, fell and sprained my wrist and wound up spending most of the remainder of the afternoon in prompt care getting xrays. By the time I got to work (and it was a very overcast day) some stuff was pretty crispy....

But on the bright side, it looks like I've managed to cobble some coverage at least for the sprint/relay weekend. Beyond that is still up in the air.

"Mt Tom ...fell and sprained my wrist ..."

No worries: there shouldn't be much snow and ice at the sprint/relays :)

J-J, are you running a champs eligible team or would you consider picking up a couple extra stray bodies and forming a non-eligible team?

It is very doubtful that I will be running on an eligible team. Christoph (Ratlaf) made some noise about flying out, but I don't know his status, and I'm unaware of anyone else from RMOC. If Christoph does show up, I'd like to run with him if he's interested, but we'd still need other teammates. If he doesn't show, then I'm completely available. There is the extremely slim possibility of my switching my primary club to UNO, but I don't think there's much of anybody coming form NH, because the packet-stuffing party for the Boulder Dash is that weekend.
