Yeah, but the rain-x wipes I had were in my other bag in CT at the time.... :-(
I keep a bottle in my car. Feel free to ask if you ever need a squirt.
Is Rain-X safe for plastic as well as glass lenses? I *know* some things, like DEET, do nasty things to plastic watch faces.
"Try it on an inconspicuous spot first". My own glasses are made of glass, so I can't say.
Used the Rain-X on my glasses today - no ill effects. Seemed better than Sunday, but still a bit of fogging which was more like a lot of microdroplets that hadn't acheived enough mass to run off yet. But after applying the Rain-X there were a lot of little fibers from the applicator on the lenses so I wiped them with the bandana before heading out - perhaps I wiped most of the rain-x off too. Next time I'll try it without wiping - perhaps the microfibers are too small to notice.....
I use the stuff from a bottle. First, I clean the glasses really well (really). Then I use a piece of cloth (e.g. t-shirt), squirt the Rain-X on the cloth, and wipe it onto both sides of the glass. I let it dry, then polish it off with a dry part of the cloth. Sometimes i also apply a second coat.
