jima:
Just over a week until the premier night orienteering event in the western hemisphere, or at least the New Hampshire part of it - the Wicked Hard Night-O at the UNO Camping Weekend, Pawtuckaway State Park.
Full course is 7.9 km, ~175 m climb, 12 controls
Manual punching
Mass start shortly after the Vampire-O gets underway from the Group Camping pavilion.

Ground rules:
- Do as many controls as you want, skip what you want, but controls must be done in consecutive order, i.e., you can do 1-4, 6-8, 11-12, but can't do 1-4, 6,7,9,8 11-12. There are several obvious cut-offs for shorter options.
- Scoring is by number of controls, then time - all finishers getting all 12 controls are ahead of those who got only 11, etc.
- Must carry 2 independent lights. It gets dark out there and can be dreary and muddy and wet and rocky...and dawn is a long time coming.

As in past years, this is not for the faint of heart or novices. You will spend some quality time in the belly of the beast that is Pawtuckaway. Management reserves the right to decline entry to those without adequate O skills. The Vampire O is a much more family friendly event, starting just before the WHNO mass start.
Those anticipating running, please let me know by next Wednesday as per the Camping Weekend flyer info -
http://www.upnoor.org/2015_Camping_Weekend_Flyer.p...

Event is held rain or (moon)shine - monsoon-like rains during some past WHNOs have just added to the challenge and fun.
