Hi all, I'm trying to fly from Vancouver to attend the event. Flights are significantly cheaper from Vancouver to San Francisco than into Reno or Sacramento. I was wondering if anyone is driving up from San Francisco on Friday (and/or driving back on Sunday afternoon). I could arrive early to mid-morning on Friday, and am happy to contribute for gas. Thanks!

Lots of transit options to get you to Truckee. Here's MegaBus:

From I-80 in Truckee you could almost walk to the meet.

chitownclark is probably a strong walker. Its over 10 miles from I-80 to the event venue on Saturday/Sunday.

Thanks for the suggestion chitownclark, but unfortunately the timing of the transit options (Amtrak, Greyhound, Megabus) do not seem to play nicely with the international flights that I'm looking at.

...actually 6.5 miles from I-80 up the cart paths of the NorthStar golf course, and into the village. And who knows? Perhaps you'd be offered a ride by an orienteer on Hwy 267, long before you turned into the golf course.

Seems like arranging to share a ride the whole way (as she's attempting to do) is the wise and green way to go.

I might be able to help. Emily, I just sent you an email to the only email address I could find for you, so let me know if you didn't get it.
