...is actually illegal, that black line around the lake means it's uncrossable...but bonus points for effort! Nice job.
Oh no, didn't realize that...oh well, it actually took longer anyway.
This is a good rule of thumb. Not necessarily true in all countries

Too funny. Good point, Jordan - I forgot about that thread awhile back.
I've swum a control, too, although in the GNC bonus race that is more like an adventure race, with a control on an island. I bet my husband I could get there faster than he could with the boat they provided, and after some skeptical looks from the race crew, they told me that Ibwouldn't be breaking any rules. I was slightly faster than the boat , only because he had to pull it across with a rope, first. However, if you can run a leg, it's usually a lot faster - perhaps swimming the middle of that lake rather than out and around from the dead center would have been faster, but I suspect it was still probably a bit wide to make it work. Fun, though!
I just know that specifically in Germany and Norway cultivated fields are not always uncrossable.
I love the billygoat and highlander because they introduced me into orienteering fast. Definitely two of my favorite races.
Yeah, I was reviewing my 2008 log entry, the race I ran with Peggy. I learned a lot from our crosstalk and applying some skills we were working on with the team. Interesting that I was on my own and a good bit faster for this one, have to go back and compare the maps, but I'd like to think I've gotten better!
