This article made me happy and made me think of you, though you are still a decade or two too young to make this list: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/10/23/maga...

Oh, wonderful article -- I have a very short attention span, really short, but I read it all the way through in one go and wished it had been twice as long.

Most of them credit their work for keeping them "young". I'm much too lazy. I suppose the passion in my case is keeping active, orienteering or a variety of other stuff. I have thought many times, OK, when I reach age XX, if I reach age XX, that will surely be the end of such stuff. So far I've been wrong. Some day, perhaps soon, I'll be right.

In the mean time, as you hear others say, there are just lots and lots of things I want to do. And no little voice whispering in my ear saying, stop it, you're too old for this.

To be real, the people profiled in the article seem very much the exception. Very very much the exception. For each one of them there are many many more whose failing minds, or physical ailments, have put a stop to things even for those with the best intentions. As will happen obviously to those profiled, too.

Nevertheless, they are certainly some inspiring stories. Thanks for the link.

Maybe this video has already appeared on AP?
An inspiring story of an inspiring old man who started orienteering before WW II...

And also some great pictures here (+a lot of other orienteering pics...)

Edit: And of course he´s now in Brazil for WMOC!

"I didn’t enlist the help of a computer because words so quickly dressed up in the costume of print can pretend to a meaning and weight they neither enjoy nor deserve."

A beautiful phrase capturing my mathematical typings.

Plus a whole load of great stuff after!
