French Creek Red:

I knew this weekend was going to be tough for me physically. The first day went mostly well. Open woods, rocky in places, orienteering not difficult as long as you maintain compass contact. Did Ok up until 11, where the urge to just run to the top overcame following my compass. Came out to the trail and it seemed like it was the top but I was fooled by the shallow reentrant and searched for the control way right. Lost some time and for a slow-poke like me the minutes wasted are especially devastating. I would say I'm not very good at relocating b/c I don't make mistakes often. Need to do some exercises for this.

This is the place where I wish I could run faster, all this open forest and I feel like I'm standing still. Enjoyed the course but losing to Peter totally ruined my day.
