Orienteering race (Susquehanna Stumble) 2:40:00 [3] **** 9.5 km (16:51 / km) +390m 13:58 / km
spiked:18/25c shoes: VJ O-shoes

Beautiful park! I had some really nice controls and route choices, particularly the section of 17-22 (mostly through the flats).

Also had a few doozies. Going into the first window, I ran right above A and missed it when I saw Eddie and an observer beyond the control. Ran straight to them, floundered for a while, found the next control (c), then had to run back. Managed to do the same type of thing in the next window, though it didn't hurt as much because the controls were closer together.

Window control order: {c, a, e, d, b} {i (missed h), h, g, j, k, f} {n, m, l}

Started to cramp on the uphill after the map exchange. Stopped to try to stretch it out and was fine for the downhill run in. Not enough water?

Something about the last control (map or placement) was weird. Not sure.

Really a great day to be in the woods.

Run (VF Multi-use) 53:00 [4]
shoes: tioga 2

Finally felt like running again. Piecing together my next 10 week plan to start next week. After 20+ weeks of steady run/xt, the question is whether I should begin some speed work? As for orienteering practice, I think my focus will be control approach/exit drills. I'll follow walk's suggestion, setting up 1km courses with doglegs between controls. My goal is to come up with a short list (3?) of basics or a routine to follow consistently through each leg.
