Ran the Orange Center loop....wet and raw outside... legs dead...sore and tight....but not hurt... just had a good weekend of work.....Back started to tighten up at the end of the run... forgot to put the Ben-Gay on.... thought the wind breaker would keep it warm enough ....NOT.... so hot shower and back to the heating pad....good news is it did not lock up just got tight....so will just relax and enjoy coffee, a muffin and a good book .... ah life is good when you retire....

Ran the Red course at Osbornedale.....had a good run .... course had a lot of climb on it....felt good until I had to climb back up hill 12 to 13/14... the leg said "go to hell pal" but my back and hams held up well ... so I think I going to be ok as I move forward.....1-3 cake.... had to hunt a little for 4.... 5-7 good.... a small goof at 8 went over the bank to far to the southwest... had to go back up to the wall at the top and try again ...good to 9 and to about 10 yds from 10... got hung up in a big brush pile... that should be marked as 3m. brush cliff... ok to 11 but I was getting tired... then goofed up 12 by going way to the east and ended up by the ruins and had to head back down the hill.... bad route to 13 I ran the road and took the road to the north and cut in at the second wall and over the hill and down to the bridge and onto 13... Becky went back through # 9 and took the trail... which was a much better and faster way to go.... after 13 it was just gutting it out and getting done with the legs yelling bad words at me all the way got the last controls ok just not fast.... Pretty good day over all and I beat the rain.... course was fun and a great workout...... Thanks Rich and Jim... My legs have some other words for you ... but there are ladies around.... Feel like I have a chance to do the Billy Goat next week in less then 24 hours...

Orienteering race (Red course Big River12434) 1:24:34 [3] 6.0 km (14:06 / km)

Ran the Red course at Big River Northwest in R.I. ....had three big goofs... other then that ran a good course.... nice area to work in alot short pines... and trails.....had a bad start...forgot to turn on GPS....then up the ridge to the southeast.... ran to were I thought the control should be.... didn't see it ...then thought I must have over run it.... run back and then all around the area ... then went over to the south of the ridge saw Becky running up to my left and she yelled at me.... head up there and shock of shocks... the BAG... just 20 yds from where I first thought it should be..... but that was a good 10+ min. lose....came off the trail to early on the way to 4 and that cost time....on what should have been cake....5-6 ok.... then went to far to right on the way to 7 one reent.to far east... but just would not believe it....that cost me a good 6 or 7 min. .... then from 8 to 9 went along the marsh and spent 15-18 minutes just sure I was at right spot... but I was a 100m short.... again would not believe it.... should pushed ahead to trail and then back tracked which 20 min. later I did and bingo there was the bag.... ( But the right way to run this leg was to do what Becky did cross the marsh and run the trail to west and then back track like I ended up doing anyway.... but with alot of lost time..... the rest were ok .... and I now started to use the contour lines as pathway to the control... this worked well and is something new for me to try.... I need to work on and use this more..... the good news was my legs and back gave me no trouble.... ran well in the woods.. had some spring in the legs.....
The other good news was sharing the drive with Lady Becky.... fun time and we had time for lunch and a stop at the Book Barn on the way .... all in all a good with alot of room to get better down the road....

Ran the Peck Lane loop.... felt real good today...left ham a little tight and sore.... but alot better then yesterday.... felt like I was able to run free and easy today....

Ran over E. Park and ran the trails over there....both hams tight and a little sore....not hurt just sore and in the belly.... Back ok during the run but got tight when I got home.... so back to the heating pad.... But the good news is that I did push the pace more today.... and was only 19 sec. off my best time for this run.... Boy the woods are dry ....when with the light rain last nite....

Life is good again-birds are singing- dog is happy...got to run two days in row.... felt good today....lower back tight in just one spot not all over... and it has not locked up since Sat. .... I was able to relax and just run...what a great day out side ....just great to be able to get out and about..
