Ran easy up to the center of U Mich campus in Ann Arbor..... cool and dark.... feel ok... keep forgetting that we are 600 miles west and it is dark later in AM.... and light later at night..... Now off to dig around in the Clements Lib.

Ran the green course at Big Bone Lick in Ky at the F. Pig.... light rain at start... had a good run a few bad routes but much better then Sat. ..... finished 18th for the Green course....bad routes to # 8,10 and 11 but was happy with effort....

Ran the green course sprint at the F.Pig....at England - Idlewild Park....ran ok ... not great.... finished 28th had goofs at # 8,13, 14 and 16 most because of bad routes.... and over shot bag.... need to do more work with 1-5000 maps....

Orienteering race (Green Middle course) 1:58:45 [3] 3.8 km (31:15 / km)

Lost my mind out there at the Middle Green course at the F. Pig..... at England - Idlewild....Map was a 1-5000 map got to 1 ok and then it went down hill from there... headed out across a to the southeast.... bad move should have headed up to road due south.... and it would have been cake..... got all turned around and turned back and then again went back through the field... bad move..... hit the control and the next 7 controls clean.... then at # 10 a whole lot of people were looking around ... saw a trail bag had to be here... No wrong ... an unmapped trail.... found it but had lost a ton of time...next bag ok... headed off through a field with a big group of people....bad move needed to make a plan that would work for me ....should have headed north got on trail headed east to big re-ent....and then follow it south ....that how at last found it... as Glenn T. said with a 1-5000 map what looked long was real short.... but I got lost in the jungle and turned around again and again.... and it was so bad I thought about just finding a safe way home and the hell with the race..... I was able to find where I was and did what I should have done in the first place ... boy it easy when you open your eyes .....and have a plan ... I thought I was over these blow ups.... now behind in time on course and tired .... get through the rest of the course but with some bad routes..... But just was able to get in... and not DQ.....but placed second to last....# 52 nd ..... in talking to some folks after some good runners were saying the on this course you needed to use the Veg. as a way to tell where you were along with the trails .... there were alot not on the map.... This something I have never done before.... so I will have to work on that skill... so much to learn and so little time !!!!

had a bad night sleep....just can not get a good night sleep the first night in a new place.....But had a good run on the Green course middle course at the F. Pig... in Middle creek park...in Ky.... the course started up hill and I was tired right at the start..... over ran the first control..... but then got in the flow.... took a bad route to #3.....but the rest were ok... the hill on the way to #12 kicked my butt.....it was hot and I was feeling it....no real problems the rest of the way just tired and went a little slower ....did not want a big goof because I was tired.... so made sure I had a plan of how I was going to the next control.....over all not bad finished 10th for the course....

Ran the model training course in camp michaels ky. easy jog around 9 controls....the map was in open areas along fields and not hard to see... but looking up into the hills there was alot green and they say there are some ups for the first day.... glad I got an easy jog in legs were dead.... but felt better by the end... I hope it was from sitting in airports and on the plane...... warm sunny day here.... I was to fly out of Hartford at 0530 this morn. but got a call late last nite telling me the flight was pushed off until 0900..... got a little more sleep but wanted to head up early to get through Hartford before the rush.....got to airport to find the flight pushed off again until 0915.... we got off the ground at 0945.... flew on a small jet that holds about 60 people.... we had 4 on board.....one more then the flight crew.... but we got here safe.... had time to find and run the course and then a glass of wine and a good meal.....and now to chill out.....So for tonite life is good....
