Note
(sick) (rest day)

Too much work, awkwardly-timed meeting and desire to get rid of sore throat before forthcoming Venice race persuaded me that a rest day was in order, despite what turned out unexpectedly to be an easy weekend.

Sunday Nov 4, 2012 #

running 57:09 [3] 10.5 km (5:27 / km)
ahr:142 max:168

November Classic postponed and car key trouble meant that I dared not stop as planned on the way home. Retrieved spare key from home, then out instead onto a little-visited bit of the Downs.
TRIMP 90.

cycling hills 29:26 [3] 11.03 km (2:40 / km) +105m 2:33 / km
ahr:136 max:159

'Active rest': half the usual session of bike hills. Cold wind, lots of showers around but just catch the edge of a couple. Still suffering from a cold. TRIMP 45.

running intervals 40:36 [4] 8.47 km (4:48 / km)
ahr:155 max:177

Mostly 1-minute fartlek efforts, all on grass; last couple a bit longer. TRIMP 97.

Wednesday Oct 31, 2012 #

running 42:57 [4] 8.71 km (4:56 / km) +35m 4:50 / km
ahr:150 max:175

Hungerford Road - E Hendred. Wet. Trail shoes, avoiding tarmac but heavy going in places. HR surprisingly high, but weather provided no incentive to dally. TRIMP 91.
