Some days I feel like I'm never going to get better at this sport. Check out the gps route to the first control, which took 27 minutes. What was I thinking? "I have no idea where I am. Just bail to the trail. Oh wait there is a big (boulder, re-entrant, cliff, ...) I should be able to relocate from that." I ended up hitting the trail eventually. Still, I had more fun than yesterday. I actually managed to run on some of the legs.

Very challenging orienteering. It is too bad my garmin won't spit out my route. I had lots of problems. I was stopping all the time to try to read the map and figure things out. The terrain was very runnable, but I just can't orienteer well enough to move faster than a fast shuffle with many stops.

It is going to take a while before I get used to these early runs. I was moving really slow, but I certainly didn't feel like pushing any harder. It seems I warmed up after 30-40 minutes.
