Cycling 30:00 [2]

I feel pretty good today, except my feet are a mess. They're generally sore, but I'm more worried about a shooting pain in one of my metatarsals on my right foot. I had this same pain last spring after a long run in o-shoes in HIlton Falls, a very rocky area. If I had to guess, I'd say that I shouldn't do long runs in my o-shoes, especially in rocky areas. Last year, the pain cleared up fully within a month, so it probably isn't anything to be too worried about.

Orienteering 1:47:00 [3]
shoes: Falcons #2

I taped my ankles for every race this weekend, and thankfully had no problems. My feet are very sore now from the tight wrapping, but I suppose that is better than a rolled ankle.

I was worried about the heat, since it really seemed to hit me on saturday. Surprising, I felt fine today. I drank a lot more during the race, and I wasn't running too hard. I was really hoping to minimize the errors today, but I made a huge one on route to 12. I often have a tough time running and navigating through green areas. I'm not sure exactly where I went, but I got turned around somewhere in the green. I wasn't able to relocate until a wandered into the huge cliffs near 13-14.

Orienteering 58:00 [4]
shoes: Falcons #2

I had fun for most of this, but it was not a great race. I made big mistakes on cp 3, 4 and 12. Also, the heat and hills got to me by cp 8. I walked pretty much every uphill. I found the nav very challenging, and had a real problem relocating after getting lost on the way to 3. I seem to have a hard to time picking appropriate attackpoints, and I struggled with any control on the side of a hill.

Orienteering 19:00 [4]
shoes: LaSportiva

Goofed up the first control on the sprint, but it went ok otherwise. Lots of slowing down and speeding up while trying to read the map.
