shoes: Inov8 Oroc 340

Scottish 6 Days, Glen Strathfarrar
tough going, had hoped to attack the course today with a late start but the delays and the sunshine didn't help, very slow through 1-3, forgot my glasses but got away with it

34th (14th GBR), 14mins behind (beat JD by nearly 2mins)

Orienteering race 1:10:58 [5] 8.0 km (8:52 / km)
shoes: Inov8 mudclaw 300

Scottish 6 Day, Achagour
reasonable performance, not fast, lost of little mistakes

#1 attacked from S of green but didn't pick up marsh, stayed south
#4 saw unmapped semi-open slowed and visited another control
#5 messy route into flag
#7 lazy, sucked towards control at copse west of where I should've been
#13 tried to be safe going picking up paths by the buildings followed phantom path into gorse and had to attack through marsh, slow
#14 confusing/incorrect paths missed left
#15 thought I'd found path, but ended up in marsh
#16 hesitant, drifted north after end of green lots of gorse
#22 followed path, but Jon Cross went straight and overtook me
#24 slow/hesitant

41st (12th GB), 17mins behind Logue

Stanton Moor
just ran all over the place, paths, trods, terrain, hills, the sun was shining and my head had come out of the fog, took the Coulmony map, wore my glasses plus a headband and did some mapreading as I ran
