MTBO 2:53:55 [4] 24.41 km (7:07 / km)

Tiredness from the day before ruled my performance. A bad start - not switched on - ended up bamboozled before the first control. The ground was dry and super soft - difficult to get traction. I felt every metre uphill. Clearly some good legs as evidenced by the splits but the overall a slow performance with up to 30m of mistakes? Ended up at control 19 instead of 17 and then almost DNFed as the body had had enough. Finishing 3rd was a surprise, but the course and conditions were hard.

Hockey 1:40:00 [4]

Round robin of 6 consecutive 30m games of which I played about half. Pre- season. Guaranteed to be sore the next day

Cycling 2:37:52 intensity: (20:00 @3) + (2:00:52 @4) + (17:00 @5) 66.44 km (25.3 kph)

Felt like hard work into the wind most of the way. At the end felt like a good work out. Followed N side of river before coffee at the boat shed with the Frogs

Mapping 3:30:00 [1] 4.5 km (46:40 / km)

Mapping Comet Bay college. On way back spotted some potential orienteering country in sand dunes. Trouble is that it was behind a big fence in the Pt Kennedy Scientific park.

Mapping 5:30:00 [2]

Mapping at the Ellenbrook College and Holy cross in Ellenbrook. Reasonably complex map at Ellenbrook. Unfortunately not much use to the general orienteering community, outside of school hours, due to the extensive fencing and high gates.
