Note

Originally had a good weekend of training planned, but I've come down with a cold (had it before last weekend, and I think the travel and training gave it the window to really hit me). So ended up taking the weekend off to sleep and try to get better.

Cycling 59:24 [3]

Initially started out trying to ride a GCN training video, but with the cold I have right now that was going to be too hard hacking away in the basement. So paused the video and just put on Netflix for the rest of the ride.

Day 3 of the training runs. We ran from where the support parking lot is for Green Gate to the finish. Today was hot. So I changed it up and ran in a tank top and with bottles. Also really focused on keeping the heart rate below 150 which is sort my cruising pace.

It took a bit to loosen my legs up and then I felt pretty good. Was in a line of runners including 3 woman with names of Kaci, Stephan and Megan and a fellow named Ian. All of them have top 10 finishes at one point or another and I think 2 of them have won it. I decided I should probably slow down.

The part from No Hands bridge up the climb was hard because I was pretty hot, but got through it and then enjoyed the run down to the track. I stayed off the track (saving that for next time i'm here). Glad I did this as I learned a lot about the course have a good idea what I want to do for the final weeks of training also.
