Orienteering race 3:00:00 [4]
Looking back on our race I feel like we had a good plan with one fatal decision. We headed north doing the course in a counter-clock wise way. I was surprised that we ended up breaking trail all the way to 57 which was pretty tiring. We had decided after 56 that we would enter the matrix and if we got there with more than an hour we would try to clear the course. We arrived there at 1:50 so we made the call to try for everything. This was the one fatal decision. Looking at the distance we covered if we had dropped one control in the matrix I think we could have gotten everything else, but in the end we ended up coming out of the matrix with only 15 min to spare and had to high tail it back to the finish getting no further points.
Still a fun day out in the woods and my nav was pretty good overall.
