The second of my Endurrun races. This oneis called the alpine race and it consisted of 25.6 km at Chicopee, which was broken up into 5 loops with an impressive 200m of climbing per loop (I find it impressive that they found that much climbing in Waterloo).

This was a much better race for me. I felt that I was more consistent per loop and still had something in the tank on the last 2 loops to work hard. I

The focus for me in the this race was to be steady on the hills and let loose on the downhills, an added bonus was that I gave Funrun a sprint finish, but he stil got me.

Now its time to taper for CCC

With Kristen's weekends booked up solid I needed to try to find some time to get long runs in during the week since I'm with Aubrey on weekends. I ended up taking to 1/2 day vacations and signing up for 2 events as part of Endurarun (a 7 day Tour de France of running in Kitchener/Waterloo). Today was the cross country race which consisted of 6 laps in Bechtel park.

I had no idea what sort of pace to go out at as I haven't done a running race that isn't an ultra in years. I probably went out too fast with my first lap 23:xx as I slowed from there. Never felt great the whole race, but still had to keep pushing as this was one of the last longer runs I'll get before France.

Having completed the run I'm happy with the time, although I'd like to have been a few minutes faster. Sitting at my desk now my legs are exhausted having not run this fast for that long in a long time.

Next up the Alpine stage on Friday (25 km at Chicopee).

A good evening run with Mrs. Gally.

We started at 6th line and ran out to the Bruce trail, continued along the white blazes Kelso. Climbed the escarpment on the Bruce and continued along the top and then added 1 more Kelso hill repeat before continuing along the Bruce trail. When the trail hit Appleby we then turned around and ran back through Hilton to the car.

I was in need of a longer run and this was good for a Wednesday night.
