After my dismal performance at Creemore I've realized that my hill running needs improvement for Oil Creek this year. After reading up on what I could do to improve it I'm also realizing that some of my workout will probably need to be done on a treadmill.

It's hard to judge distance on this since it's a time based workout, but on the first two I was definitely going at least 100-200 m further than I did in the past. Guess my running is actually improving.

Bit of a fail on this ride. Tried to explore this morning and find a new route. Got a flat around 20 km. Changed it and then realized I'd pinched the new tube putting it on. I was down to just a cyclocross tube. Seemed to work and at that point I took a direct route home. Was out for 1h30, but definitely didn't ride for that long.

Creemore Vertical Challenge

Well I'll chaulk this one up to a learning experience. Started out fine, but at about 15 k I was already feeling very tired and I still had a ways to go. The next 5 k felt like I'd just run 10 and at that point I knew this wasn't going to be a good race for me. As I came back around the start/finish I considered dropping, but as I wrestled with this in my head I told myself this was a training race so what better training then to keep going. The next 25 k was a very slow shuffle taking me 30 min longer than the first 25 k.

Positives from this race:
- I was able to control any stomach GI issues with my choice of food and also by being constant with water intake.
- Even though I really did not want to run I was able to will myself to keep this up and to even get into a bit of a rythm albeit a very slow one.

Negatives:
- I was slow, very very slow.

Note

On Thursday night I had sharp pain in the 3rd and 4th toes on my right foot. Even on Friday it was still painful. By Saturday it had gone down a bit with some Vitamin I and ice, but still sore. Decided to give it a few days off of running with the 50K on Saturday. Will see how it feels on Tuesday.
