Running 30:00 [3]

Still fighting off the cold, although I'm definitly on the later end of it. Short run this morning to get the blood flowing. I find working out is the best medicine when you have a cold.

Backpacking out from Algonquin.

Note
(sick)

Definitly sick. Nothing today in hopes that rest will do the body good.

Wednesday Oct 26, 2005 #

Running 50:00 [2]
(sick)

Run in high partk this morning. I can feel the cold coming on.

Monday Oct 24, 2005 #

Running 40:00 [3]

Morning run in Montreal before more meetings today. Nice city, but being in the core means there's too many stop lights.

Saturday Oct 22, 2005 #

Running 1:00:00 [3]

Morning run along the waterfront trail, and then up the humber trail. Felt really good today.

Hiking/Walking 1 [1]

Strength 45:00 [2]

Upper body weights. The most exciting part of this was watching some guy drop a medicine ball on himself to apparently build muscle. I was going to go over and ask he wanted me to drop the ball on his head to work on his neck strength, but figured it was better not to.

Also through in core workout at the end as I realized it was already Thursday and I hadn't done it yet.

Running 45:00 [3]
ahr:154

Run along the waterfront. Really nice to see the city lights in the morning as the sun rises.

Tuesday Oct 18, 2005 #

Cycling 45:00 [2]
ahr:134

Ride up the Humber in the morning. Really nice morning to be out riding. I believe it was 45 minutes since my watch stopped at one point because I must have hit the button on it.

Monday Oct 17, 2005 #

Running 45:00 [3]
ahr:157

Ran along Lakeshore as it was way to windy to go along the waterfront. From our place to Kipling and back.

Sunday Oct 16, 2005 #

Cycling 45:00 [2]

Nice cycle along the humber in the morning.

Saturday Oct 15, 2005 #

Note

Volunteered at ARC's race in Guelph today. Very interesting to have a radio for the day where you can listen to the organization as it deals with issues throughout the day. Quite the day for ARC between having a checkpoint stolen out on the course and trying to deal with the weather I thought they made the most of the situation.

Thursday Oct 13, 2005 #

Strength 45:00 [2]

Upper body workouts.

Wednesday Oct 12, 2005 #

Running 45:00 [3]

A little windy this evening as I went out for a run.

Hiking/Walking

Core workout.

Tuesday Oct 11, 2005 #

Cycling 30:00 [2]

Out for a bike ride along the watefront trail. It's really strating to feel like fall this morning.

Monday Oct 10, 2005 #

Running 30:00 [3]
ahr:157

Run along the waterfront. No noticable knee pain.

Hiking/Walking

Core stretches/strength. One of the areas I want to improve for next year is my core strength. Espeacially my back. Found a pretty good program online and gave it a try this morning. Goal is to include this 3 times a week.

Sunday Oct 9, 2005 #

Note
(rest day)

Seeing as I probably pushed my knee way more then I was supposed to yesterday, going to take it easy today. Some slight soreness in the knee, but nothing as bad as it was a few weeks ago.

Orienteering 1:06:00 [4]

Had a pretty good run at this considering the shape I'm in going into it. Could definitly feel my legs getting tiried from #10 on. Ended up with a missed CP at #12, was there so I probably didn't actually get the SI unit to beep. Overall had a great time as I'm really starting to enjoy getting out there with a map running in the woods. Was talking with Meridian about this afterwards, and I'll be definitly trying to include that into my training more this coming year.

Orienteering 21:30 [4]

Sprint race. What I thought was a trail was a river on the map and thus I spent 6 minutes trying to get #1. After that things went quite well, although I was exhausted and just had no gas in my legs. Great day out hanging out with people and running around (in circles some times) in the woods.

Friday Oct 7, 2005 #

Note
(rest day)

9am meeting = Rest day. Although probably good since I'm sure I'm going to overuse my bad knee tomorrow.

Thursday Oct 6, 2005 #

Strength 45:00 [3]
weight:175lbs

Upper body weights.

Wednesday Oct 5, 2005 #

Running 30:00 [3]

Nice run along Lakeshore west. Pushed it a bit more today and felt really good. No noticeable knee pain.

Tuesday Oct 4, 2005 #

Cycling 30:00 [2]

Crazy cycle this morning with all the fog coming off of the water. Had a good spin for 30 min, knee barely noticeable.

Monday Oct 3, 2005 #

Running 30:00 [2]

Decided to go exploring this morning on the park land around our place. Looked really nice to see the downtown from afar covered in the morning mist.

Saturday Oct 1, 2005 #

Cycling 30:00 [2]

Finally got out for a ride on my MTB this morning. Knee was still quite stiff at the end of 30 minutes. Man I forgotten how quickly 30 minutes can come and go when you're on a bike. Still nice to be out with this beautiful weather.
