Cycling 1:45:00 [3]

Rode to work this morning. Most was at level 3, but some sections I picked it up to a 4, others were at a 2. Took a bit longer then expected when I discovered the trail I normally take was closed and I had to find a new way north from the lake to work.

Cycling 1:00:00 [3]

Ride home, rode the first hour at a pretty good pace.

Cycling 35:00 [2]

Then cruised along the Lakeshore trail to home.

Strength 45:00 [2]

Orienteering 45:00 [3]

Went to the TOC wednesday event. Was pretty fun to run around same area I normally bike through on my way to work.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

A light run after the training session

Tuesday Apr 25, 2006 #

Cycling long 1:50:00 [3]

Went down to Milton to ride with the noshnoj. Spent almost 2 hours riding through Kelso. I couldn't believe how dry it was, a very sweet ride.

Morning run through the Humber park lands. A bit of a breeze from the East, but otherwise a very nice morning.

Sunday Apr 16, 2006 #

Cycling 1:00:00 [1]

A light ride with Kristen along the Humber trail and back.

Saturday Apr 15, 2006 #

Cycling long 3:30:00 [3]

Rode from my hours north along the Humber trail and Weston road to King Road (a terrible head wind the whole way), along to Jane and back home.

Cycling warm up/down 30:00 [2]

Warmup and down with EJ and the runner.

Cycling hills 1:00:00 [4]

Hill training with EJ and the runner. Both of them kicked my a$$ on this. I guess having the spend the entire winter without doing any quad training is catching up with me.

Cycling tempo 30:00 [3]

After a number of hills up and down the escarpement we did some nice road riding in the rain around Milton.

Thursday Apr 13, 2006 #

Strength 1:00:00 [3]

Finally added squats back into my workout. Felt pretty good.

Tuesday Apr 11, 2006 #

Running long 1:50:00 [2]

Ran along the watefront trail going west initially this time. They have a really nice park section near Etobicoke creek. I could see this being great for a sprint race or two.

Cycling warm up/down 30:00 [1]

Warm up/down.

Cycling tempo 40:00 [4]
ahr:160 max:167

Got up today and rode with the DVD Bent lent me one more time before I give it back. Was worried at about 25 minutes that I wouldn't be able to finish because I'd gone out too hard, but I was able to hold on. Quite a good workout this is, but with the season changing it's time to get outside... :)

Bent, to prove you've read this do you want to wait until I see you next, or do you want me to mail it back to you? :)

Cycling long 3:00:00 [2]

I was all ready to go out for a nice ride this morning, wanting to be out for at least 3 hours. I had the bike all ready and turned on the tv to see what the temperature was. I was a bit shocked to find out that with a wind chill it was -11. I can't ride for that long with my current gear at that temperature without worrying about froozen toes, so I setup the trainer again and rode inside.

Orienteering 1:00:00 [2]

Out helping Sudden hang controls for tomorrow's GRR. Ran the matrix. It's going to be interesting to see how teams choose to do this section.

Running warm up/down 25:00 [2]

Warm up and down during my morning workout.

Running intervals 47:00 [5]

5 intervals, 7 minutes on and 2 minutes off. This really hurt so I took a 3 minute break after 3 and 4 instead of reducing the time in each interval.

Other 1:00:00 [1]

I don't normally like to count none training activity in my attack point log, but I ended up playing 3 hours of pretty competitive beach volleyball tonight. So we'll count this as 1 hour.

Cycling warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Cycling intervals 24:00 [5]
ahr:162 max:167

4 minutes on, 4 minutes recovery.

Cycling tempo 15:00 [3]
ahr:137

Right after the intervals kick into a mid-tempo ride.

Cycling 31:00 [1]

Time inbetween intervals and warm down.

Running long 1:40:00 [2]

Nice long run up the Humber river. I would have liked to go farther, but I was just too tired. I could almost feel myself falling asleep on the drive into work.

Cycling warm up/down 30:00 [1]

Warm up/down during morning ride.

Cycling tempo 40:00 [4]
ahr:157 max:174

Today I did the crit race with Robbie Ventura that Bent lent me. Definitely a good workout, thanks Bent. I know you were looking for a review of this DVD, but I'm not sure what to write. Definitely tougher then anything I done myself on the bike. I don't know if I could do it every week (boredom factor), but I may try come next year.

Orienteering race 1:53:00 [4]

Pig long race. Not bad overall. I found #17 and #19 pretty tough, I was also a bit off on my way to 7 and 14.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [1]

Warmup before the long.

Saturday Apr 1, 2006 #

Running warm up/down 30:00 [1]

Warm up before sprint and relay.

Orienteering race 26:00 [5]

Just an aweful race. I ran by 1 and had problems with 2 that cost me probably 4/5 minutes. I got caught following Jon Torrance as he ran past #11. I punched it, but assumed he was going on to 12, which he wasn't.

Orienteering 1:16:00 [4]

Terrible relay run. I was doing well until I couldn't find #4. Turns out I still needed to go one more hill until I was there. The frustration caused me to also really not pay attention to 5. From 7 I went 180 degrees in the wrong direction. Oh well.....
