Swimming 1:26:56 [3] 5.58 km (15:35 / km)

Green at Huntington SP. First time out this year, testing whether right hip would bear occasional trot, so determined not to run much. Nice soft ground helped. Slow pace helped navigation, I'm sure. Never off by too much, but confused on 4 (didn't go far enough), and on 7 was too far right. Bag visible from afar as I came back in from the NW. First part of long leg to 6 was slow as I debated whether crossing swamp was wise in wet conditions - no problem since shoes already soaked. Perhaps should have turned north sooner. My route.

All in all a very favorable experience on blustery sunny day. OK pace for my cautious plan.

Good ride to park with Charlie, hearing his tales of recent sojourn in Cyprus, Turkey and Italy.

2000 yds. Used 300 as a unit, posing some math gymnastics to overcome boredom of lap swimming. Doing better at keeping knees together for the flip turns, just takes concentration which often alludes me.

1500 yds. 500 3-stroke warmup. 250 kick 250 pull. 10 50s free and back, feeling some benefit from the upper body gym work, flip turns went well by concentrating on keeping knees together for the snap through.

Nepaug reservoir. Another sunny day without much wind. Still snow in the woods, so again seeking roads without traffic. Walking. Right hip arthritis is probably always going to bug me. Glut got sore right away then faded away.
