Running 1:19:19 [3] 11.99 km (6:37 / km) +256m 5:59 / km
shoes: Brooks Caldera blue

Solid run with Storm, Goose Ursula, Scout and Logan.
Ursula set a solid pace - good thing the dogs “needed a swim break” or two so we could catch our breath. Fall colours, summer weather.

Cycling 1:20:00 [3]

Nice ride down to Albion after a day of appointments while the weather was perfect.

Forest was great, for some reason traction was amazing and the ‘bent was on rails in the singletrack- not sure if it was the lack of mud or no map holder blocking view and body movement.

Cycling 52:00 [2]

Easy ride with Bazingadog who was pretty laid back. Good thing as my left ear is driving me crazy. Wasn’t even tempted to do more on such a nice day.

Strength 45:00 [2]

Workout 3 and rehab.

Cycling 50:00 [3]

"Oh-wow" type commute with AD on a perfect calm sunny fall day in jaw-dropping colours. A few extras. Wish I had longer...

Quick night ride home.

Cycling 55:00 [3]

Nice brisk ride in with the big guy. A deer ran out of the bush, down the trail and turned to our house, so I didn’t have to pedal up the hill at all.

Running 1:05:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Caldera blue

Solid run with AD with extra hills, then back with the saw to clear 3 trees that fell across the trail in the first km.

Lumberjack 20:00 [3]

Hand sawing a few trees, 2 smaller ones and one big guy.

Cycling race (MTBO) 1:07:06 [3] 13.93 km (12.5 kph) +190m

Stars MTBO. It dumped and howled last night but was calm, warm and dry for the race.

I started pretty early, passed a couple of folks at control 1, had some full contact MTBO with Coach LD past cp5 on the Goat Path, but after that didn’t see anyone -except for about 100 cadets doing some sort of linked-arm exercise right across the race route in the field. It took quite a lot of polite yelling to get their attention.

I took my time to be sure of precision and was very pleased with clean nav and confident route choice. Ended up 3rd overall 10 minutes behind Long Sault Rob and 8 behind Chad.

Browner dominated the female category, and the Gallygang won the novice course in a hard-fought battle with the Leakers.

Bash’s brilliant idea of starting early paid off as rain came blasting down just after awards. Thanks to Bash, Mick and Laura for all the hard work.
