'Bent, Goose and BYG were doing a Hockley loop with the Burly Trail Runners. I hitched a ride to the Bruce Trail parking lot on Hockley Road, then I ran home on the Bruce and Oak Ridges Trails. Time deducted for stops to chat with Norm Nadon (Orangeville Running Free), Crash and Scott, Slowrunner, ultrarunner Greg Patterson and a couple with two friendly dogs.
It was a beautiful day with leaves just coming out and only a few spring flowers - mostly Dutchman's Breeches. Some of the red trilliums were open but most of the white trilliums were still in bud. There were a few bloodroot (usually the first to blossom around here) and trout lilies. I'll have to return to Hockley for a trillium run because this definitely wasn't it.
