Sunset hill intervals in the snow on Raspberry Hill - not exactly a mountain but the idea was just to engage glutes and run all the way up at a consistent pace - about 90 seconds X 5 hill climbs. The warm-up and rests between intervals weren't easy going since I was either breaking through crust or fighting for balance on frozen footprints.
At one point, my right foot broke through and felt like it had been caught in a concrete block up to the ankle. As my body started to fly forward like Superman with one foot firmly attached to the ground, I imagined all the damage that was about to be inflicted on my (former) good foot and leg. Luckily, my foot popped out when I was halfway down so I merely landed on my face and wrenched my bad shoulder, probably undoing most of the good Thumbs-of-Death had done in this morning's treatment. Still, this was so much better than it could have been!
During my warm-up, I met a man with three small dogs. He tried to call them away but I told him it was OK since I have two dogs at home. I still say that to people, even though Mocha has been gone for a month and a half. :(( We are a two-dog family that temporarily lacks a second dog.
