Cycle 1:50:00 [3] 29.0 km (3:48 / km)

Fun ride at Hilton with DD11 and his super awesome lady troupe. DD11 was an awesome tour guide and labrador retriever, swapping back and forth from the front of the pack to back. I have no clue how he found us 30km in there with only a few breaks out on the roads, but it made the ride go by fast.

Trek 52:00 [2] 6.0 km (8:40 / km)
ahr:138 max:154

More ultra slow training while course checking for Storm the Scarpment. The trails were a little ripped up from yesterday's Mountain Bike Fondo, but not too bad. A few mud holes may make for great photos if they don't dry up.

Trek 1:17:00 [3] 7.75 km (9:56 / km)
ahr:132 max:160

Course testing for Storm the Scarpment. So far so good...looks like a fun course.

I have decided to follow the advice in the recent Trail Runner mag about heat rate training in the lower ranges - at least through to Christmas. There are no huge races for a while so I will give this a go most of the time.It is not at all intuitive to run slow to be able to run faster, but the geek in me gets it.

Using 180 minus age for the MAHR that gives me 138bpm. Currently I exceed that tying my shoe laces.

It is easy to do this while course testing, lots of walking to make sure trail maps make sense, smell the roses etc.

Running 2:09:36 [3] 17.0 km (7:37 / km)

Long run from home up the escarpment, into Rattlesnake Point and home through Kelso. Got caught in a massive storm half way which was much appreciated but increased the humidity from 95% to 99%. Not that I'm complaining!
