Running 53:00 [3]

Mohawk run with both dogs. I was a wee nervous to try running both dogs on leash but Sean is away working this week and this was the only time-efficient option for me. Everything turned out all right. The dogs pulled off their leash a few times and ran ahead but stopped when I called wait.

Running 1:32:00 [3]

After walking the pooches on a trail near Kilbride that parallels the river (we actually hiked up the river for a while to stay cool), I ran from home through Kelso again.

I took music for the first time in about 10 months (since I lost my iPod shuffle at Rockstar), and found I made it up the mountain 3 minutes faster than usual!

Trek 3:25:00 [3] 16.0 km (12:49 / km) +1302m 9:06 / km

6 hill repeats up various sections of Blue Mountain with Bash and Bent. It was a great day of hill training trying to keep it interesting by varying the hills from straight up on an exposed trail, winding forested paths beside creeks, gravel service roads and plain old open ski runs.

This was a high vale workout to test out all aspects of using poles and testing my shoes for withstanding the steep downhills that are to come at Cortina!

I loved it!

Running 50 [3] 7.5 km (7 / km)

Quick run up the mountain and around the roads for a loop.

Friday May 20, 2016 #

Running 50:40 [3] 6.7 km (7:34 / km)

Quick evening trail run with just Contour, and I fell on my face again, in precisely the same spot in Kelso! I need to get back there with some flagging tape for my own personal safety!

Running 58:00 [3] 8.0 km (7:15 / km)

Another attempted run with the dogs. I managed to stay upright this time, but Contour really wants to chase mountain bikes, so I have to stop and wait for riders to go by and out of sight before we can continue. Maybe he needs a blind like they give the horses.

Running 1:00:00 [3]

Run "attempt"at Kelso with Contour and Scout using a cumbersome long lease contraption. I fell flat on my face mid-way through, which was embarrassing enough, but right as I got up, they spotted a few honking Canadian Geese and took off down the ski hill, leaving me with rope burn and a face full of dust. Later on, the trail ambassador crossed paths with me and asked if I was ok. I didn't think I showed any signs of distress but when I got to the parking lot I noticed I had two muddy scraped knees and twigs in my hair!

Running 29:20 [3] 5.0 km (5:52 / km)

Flat quick run to the roundabout and back.

Cycle race 4:00:00 [3] 54.0 km (4:27 / km)

Epic 8 Mtn Bike Relay - tag team with Audrey

Great spring tune up at Epic 8 with some pretty hard core AR ladies and 3 honourary chicks.

Super fun trying out some anaerobic riding on not too tecnical, but not too easy either 9km loops.

We got 11 laps in, but that only got us 4/5 for tag team females, but they were all super fit and super strong on the climbs, so I know where I need to improve now!

Cycle 55:00 [3] 9.0 km (6:07 / km)

Fun ride in Kelso with Funderstorm - and awesome evening picnic with Earl, my pups and the boys!
