Running 1:00:00 [3] 7.2 km (8:20 / km)

Had a meeting in Pickering so thought it would be a good idea to ride glen major after work. As it turns out it rained all afternoon, so I switched to running and stopped at Walker Woods instead after remembering Simpy took us here once. It was quite pretty and damp like Vancouver. Nice change of scenery. I forgot water so took her extra easy.

Climbing Lesson with Team BiT
We were lucky to get Eric Batty as our instructor to review rappelling and ascending skills in the comfort of the oasis rock climbing gym. Fun stuff, and glad to cross this off my list of things to learn.

Eric and I are both left handed. I was very excited to learn this. It is always a pain to be taught by right handers. It's as simple as that DD11!

Cycle 1:20:00 [3] 18.0 km (4:27 / km)

Great recovery ride with Dee in The Don. Loved the company and the pump track called the infinity loop. I am very glad I kept my fat tires on.

Forgot to check time and distance.

Cycle 8:06:00 [3] 152.0 km (3:12 / km)

I think this was my longest bike ride ever. I certainly didn't make it easy on myself by carrying 2.75 of water, 2 tall boy can of Starbucks drinks and my trekking poles. At around 3:00am we tried the CrushSmellGo smelling salts I carried around to races last year, but never had the guts to try. They were no big deal and worked immediately, but the effect was gone in 30 minutes.

Otherwise I tried not to burn my self out and took her easy behind the boys. I'm glad I did because there were a few mammoth hills at the 100k mark.

We had mercy on ourselves for a breakfast break in the morning and finished the last 20k or so with Ursula - welcome new company and conversation.

Thanks to DD11 for inspiring the whole thing, Simpy for keeping us on track the whole way, and Reeder for staying back with me, even if he was too pissed off to talk because the bakeries we passed were all closed.

Trek 3:13:00 [3] 16.6 km (11:38 / km)

Team Training at DD11's cottage. It was a full dress rehearsal with mandatory gear and bins. Starting on a Friday night at 1045 was a really great way to fast forward to the mental challenge of expedition racing.

The trek was fun, lots of swamp crossings in the middle of the night and almost no bugs in the dark.

Cycle 4:18:30 [3] 100.0 km (2:35 / km)

Big milestone today, first metric century of the season. I dub it Tour De Sausage Roll for all the bakeries we stopped at. Thanks to DD11 for leading us on his 4 ounce road bike for 82km. Rest was later, solo at Kelso.
