Great day to ride 70k with a crap load of cyclocross riders. My results are messed since I took a later wave and that wasn't recorded by the chip, but it doesn't make a huge difference in the results anyway.

Many thanks to DD11 for graciously assuming the role of race crew after an injury prevented him from racing.

Loop up and down the escarpment from Inglewood with Reeder. We both agreed we wouldn't have done a ride that hard without company. We found lots of gravel roads and hills and a massive staircase at forks of the credit.

Homage du Ice Mtn Bike Race at Dufferin Forest

First mtn bike ride and mtn bike race of the year on the same day so it was no surprise that I was a little rusty off the start, which was downhill ice, snow and mud. I was way too nervous to push on that terrain and skidded out a few times but it was still a lot of fun to be out in the woods on a bike on a fully sanctioned race.

After the shaky start I passed a bunch of riders and 2 girls, and was generally happy with the pace for April.

Dufferin Forest is good to go - the forestry companies don't mind riders in the double track and a lot of the singletrack is bone dry if you stay high like the race director decided to do.

Well if I didn't find company to go for a ride today in this crappy weather, there was no way I was going, so it was Storm's lucky day to chaperone me to Milton for some hill repeats.

Part 1 - 10km slow warm up ride around Milton streets

Part 2 - 25km hilly ride up and down the escarpment, including:
14th line hill
Steeles hill
Appleby south
Appleby north

It was freezing out there, but I still quite like this workout and plan to add a hill a week for the next month, if there are any takers!
