Raid The Hammer

Slow romp through the course with my brothers today, but best time yet for this team after 10 years of Lost in Space, and no nav issues whatsoever. Stupid knee is acting up again, but got through it without limping.

It was fun to be in new terrain this year, and I really appreciate all the work that must have gone into the map making. I must admit I miss the past courses with really advanced navigation....walk the line, trails removed from maps, controls hidden in behind small ridges and valleys in complex terrain. As slow runners, we placed much better when the course included tougher nav sections and playing follow the leader is a much riskier strategy.

Always a great race though, wish there were more long orienteering races like this through the year in SW Ontario.
