towards the end i got a little adventurous and tried to ride down a small flight of stairs near my apt. had a small crash. bars into my bad knee. oops.

first real ride back, w Jeff David Carrie. i was worried about lateral stability, pedal stroke, just everything. crept my way through lower LV, but gained confidence as we hit Matson and then back to upper LV. walked a few things that i would normally go after, mostly shelfy stuff that would require a lift and then power up. but after this morning's stupidity, it seemed smarter to ride conservative.

then some night nav practice w Jeff and David at L&C while Carrie ran trails. again, very worried about knee in the woods but going out at night was a clever suggestion by Jeff - we would be going slower anyway so easier for me to keep up. we picked 3 features on a 1:24 map and David hit them all. i was SUPER SLOW...ROM still an issue. but, SO NICE to be in the woods w the boys. they are awesome.

woke up and the knee was unhappy about all of yesterday's activity. not bad, but def more stiff than previous mornings so i had to dial the training back today.

felt like things loosened up a bit during the run, but with the heat just decided to take it easy all day.

another EZ jog. most of the pain in the joint is below the patella, i believe that would be called the tibial plateau? but we know it's not broken so hopefully something i can control w ice and smart training.

oh! oh! and then i rode to work!! still lots of tightness around the scars that make the top of the pedal stroke very uncomfortable. but that's all it is...discomfort. not pain. i can deal with that.

Note

tried to ride into work today. first 50m, knee had a new pain above the patella. turned straight around and drove in instead. i think it might be just the bandage applied too tightly but being cautious here.

to/from pool. knee a little better than this morning. i think i was right about the pain, it's not really in the joint, just really tight skin across/above the scar. any suggestions for making this go away?
