Adventure Race 17:10:00 [3] ***

w Jeff and David. a day full of ups and downs for us, no huge mistakes but lots of little ones piled on top of each other meant we were in and out of the lead the whole day. top 3 teams (us, bugeater + kevin, Rev3/MK w britty327) together on ropes course just before sunset. we hammered the ensuing bike section and had a great route choice that gave us a 15-20 minute (??) gap going into the final trek. david nailed first 3 CPs of that even in the dark. the final one (31), pretty close to camp, gave us trouble and that had us scared as we ran back to finish. but others had trouble with final trek as well so squeaked out the win. very proud to have kept fighting all day.

tons of climb on this course. fantastic terrain!! beautiful woods too, when they weren't all thorny. map a little sketchy in places, but david made it work. Brian (RD) is directing USARA Nats too.

totals - 84.9mi
BIKE 48mi
PADDLE 10.8mi
TREK 16.5mi

okay, this is a total joke "workout". but i wore race gear and a race pack. i ran back and forth along the same 10m stretch of gravel road for awhile. some guy took pictures. they might be in a magazine next month.

before and after my session i sat in the Courtois as an "ice bath". and i tried SUPing!! so fun!

early survey at work, got home and took a nap, then time to run! Forest Park is known to serve up some beauties and this was one of the best I've experienced...lovely temps, glowing sunset, easy pace, just a peaceful and relaxing jog. <3
